Carbon Reduction Plan
REO Digital
Publication date: 16 June 2025
REO Digital is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline year: 2021
Additional details relating to the baseline emissions calculations:
The 2021 baseline was assessed in partnership with Positive Planet using the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard. The footprint includes all Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, as well as the required subset of Scope 3 emissions (business travel, employee commuting, procurement, energy-related activities). Scope 1 emissions are zero due to REO Digital’s nature as a digital service provider with no owned vehicles or combustion facilities.
Baseline year emissions (tCOâ‚‚e):
Scope 1: 0
Scope 2: 1.94
Scope 3 (included sources): 128.69
Total emissions: 130.63 tCOâ‚‚e
Current Emissions Reporting
Reporting year: 2025
The next full measurement is scheduled for later in 2025. The previous assessment covered 2021. Due to operational consistency and the COVID-19 disruption, material changes to emissions are not expected. A full update is planned and will be published within the year.
Current year emissions (provisional, from last full report):
Scope 1: 0
Scope 2: 1.94
Scope 3 (included sources): 128.69
Total emissions: 130.63 tCOâ‚‚e
Explanation: The last full report (2021) remains the most recent available data set. The 2025 emissions reporting cycle is underway and will be published and updated within 12 months of this CRP submission.
Emissions Reduction Targets
To align with the UK Net Zero strategy and our organisational commitment, REO Digital has set the following carbon reduction targets:
We aim to reduce our carbon emissions to 65.3 tCOâ‚‚e by 2030, representing a 50% reduction from our 2021 baseline. We are committed to reviewing and adjusting this target annually in line with best practices and technological advancements.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Environmental management measures and projects completed to date include:
Full remote/hybrid working model to reduce travel-related emissions
Cloud-based infrastructure to reduce energy usage and optimise efficiency
Energy-efficient office spaces, using suppliers offering renewable electricity
Digital-first procurement and supplier engagement to favour low-carbon vendors
Partnered with Positive Planet for carbon footprint analysis and action planning
Certification schemes and partnerships:
Carbon Footprint Analysis completed and verified by Positive Planet
Participation in Positive Planet’s Net Zero 2030 advisory programme underway
Future planned initiatives include:
Moving to a 100% renewable electricity supplier
Introducing a carbon offset programme for residual emissions
Encouraging low-carbon commuting options (e.g. cycle-to-work scheme)
Further decarbonising our supply chain by introducing sustainability criteria
Tracking and publicly reporting annual emissions on our website
These measures will be in effect when performing public sector contracts and are aligned with our long-term net zero roadmap.
