What is web analytics?
Web analytics allows you to track, evaluate and report on the way users interact with your website – it is a way of analyzing the users’ behaviors with the goal of improving their experience on your site and, by extension, improving your website performance.
Through this tracking, you can see where on-site users arrived, which pages and content they interacted with the most, and whether they converted on your site’s key actions, be they buying products or completing key forms. This allows you to understand how well your marketing campaigns are performing, which products are most popular and follow your users across every interaction they have with your site.
Why web analytics is important?
At a time where digital transformation is at the center of every business’ global strategy, it is essential to fully understand your customers. Web analytics provide valuable insights that will help to shape your strategy and take the best decisions for your business.
It allows you to uncover deeper insights into the users’ behaviours and pain points, map out the customers’ journey, and even start to track users across all their different devices and understand their lifetime interactions with you. The areas in need of improvement can then be addressed to drive more conversions.

Google Analytics UA gone by July 2023
Google has set the deprecation of standard Universal Analytics July, 2023.
When moving to Google Analytics 4, your data from Universal Analytics will not go with you – to run complete historical comparisons and reports from 2023, using one cohesive source of truth, you should migrate and implement Google Analytics 4 as soon as possible so that all that data is available in one place.
Why you should upgrade now?
The sooner you start collecting data from Google Analytics 4, the more historical data will be captured which will allow an effortless and trouble-free transition between Universal and GA4. The year comparisons allow you to identify why sales might be better than a certain period, spot any changes, see if there are any conversion issues and take actions to ensure it benefits your business in the long run.
If you don’t upgrade before beginning of 2023, the reports you have been relying on will be gone and you won’t have any ways to properly measure your business performance and efforts.
